INTERNET OF THINGS WITH AV
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items that are embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and connectivity, allowing them to connect and exchange data. Online instruments, such as audio and video conferencing tools, can be used to enable real-time communication between people and IoT devices, or between IoT devices themselves. This is often referred to as audiovisual (AV) communication with IoT. For example, a smart home device could send a video feed to a homeowner’s smartphone, allowing them to remotely monitor their home. Similarly, an industrial IoT system could use audio and video sensors to detect and alert workers to potential hazards. The combination of IoT and AV through online instruments has the potential to greatly enhance our ability to monitor and control the physical world around us.
